Specialist Literacy Support

Every child learns differently, which is why every literacy session is carefully tailored to their individual needs. Using a structured, multi-sensory approach, I help children develop the skills and confidence they need to become successful readers, writers and spellers.

Sessions are engaging, interactive and designed to build learning step by step. By revisiting previous learning while introducing new skills at the right pace, children develop a deeper understanding, greater confidence and the foundations they need for long-term success.

Support may include:

  • Phonics
  • Reading and reading comprehension
  • Spelling strategies
  • Writing skills
  • Grammar and punctuation
  • Vocabulary development
  • Memory and processing skills
  • Listening and visual skills

Your child may benefit from extra literacy support if they:

  • avoid reading or writing
  • struggle to remember spellings
  • find reading slow or tiring
  • confuse similar-looking letters or words
  • have difficulty organising their ideas in writing
  • have lost confidence in English lessons
  • show signs of dyslexia

My aim is not only to improve literacy skills, but also to help children rediscover confidence, enjoy learning and believe in their own abilities.

Dyslexia Pre-Assessment

I hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Learners with Dyslexia and am currently working towards a Level 5 qualification in Dyslexia Teaching.

If you're concerned that your child may have dyslexia, I can carry out a dyslexia pre-assessment to help identify whether a full diagnostic assessment would be beneficial.

A formal dyslexia assessment typically costs between £400 and £500, so a pre-assessment can be a helpful first step in understanding your child's strengths and areas of difficulty before deciding whether to pursue a full assessment.
